lec 5 Flashcards
sigmoid mesocolon lies
apex
left limb
right limb
inverted V shape apex lies near the division of left common iliac artery
medial to left psoas major
descends to pelvis lies in medial plane
what passes in the sigmoid mesocolon
sigmoid + superior rectal vessels
mesoappendix is attached to
back of lower end of mesentery near ileocaecal junction
what causes referred pain to the tip of the shoulder
The parietal peritoneum lining the central part of diaphragm is supplied by the phrenic nerve (C4)
what separates the infra and supra colic compartment
attachment of mesocolon
what separates the right and left infracolic compartment
mesentery of small intestine
peritoneum N supply central part of diaphragm --> lateral parts --> rest of the diaphragm --> pelvic part -->
1-phrenic (C4)
2- lower 6 intercostal
3- lower 6 intercostal L1
4- obturator N. mainly
the parietal peritoneum is sensitive to
Is sensitive to pain, temperature, touch, and pressure
the visceral peritoneum is sensitive to
stretch , tearing
innervation of visceral peritoneum
afferent fibers travel with autonomic supply to the viscera
stomach relation to anterior wall
in epigastric, umblical, and left hypochondriac regions of abdomen
cardiac orifice lies
behind left 7th costal cartilage, 2.5cm from its sternal junction
at the level of T11 vertebra
pyloric orifice lies
Lies about 1.2 cm to the right of median plane near the level of lower border of L1
stomach anterior relations
abdominal wall diaphragm left lung and pleura left lobe of liver left costal margin
posterior relations of the stomach
stomach bed : splenic artery + spleen supra renal gland + upper part of left kidney body of pancreas transverse mesocolon + transverse colon lesser sac + diaphragm
blood supply to stomach
Right and left gastric arteries:
Are branches of hepatic and celiac arteries, respectively.
They form an anastomosing arch along lesser curvature.
b. Right and left gastroepiploic arteries:
are branches of
gastroduodenal and splenic arteries, respectively.
They form a similar arch along the greater curvature.
C. Short gastric arteries
Branches of the splenic artery.
They supply the fundus.
lymph drainage of stomach
drain into right and left gastric nodes, the right and left gastoepiploic nodes, and the short gastric nodes.
Lymph from these node drains into the celiac nodes.
nerve supply to stomach
The stomach is supply by sympathetic and parasympathetic fibers (vagi) via the celiac plexus.
