3
Q

can RNA bind to DNA?

Q

what are -10 (TATAAT) and -35 (TTGACA) regions?

A

sigma factors that lead RNA polymerase to +1 region to start transcription

12
Q

what is rho-independent termination?

A

makes hairpin loop rich with G-C to terminate transcription via weak U-A bonds which break off

13
Q

what is rho-dependent termination?

A

has a termination sequence and upstream from it there is the rut which is C-A rich, the helicase migrates up towards it and it causes it to disrupt the RNA-DNA base pairing
