What are the 5 muscles that flex the thigh?
illiopsoas, rectus femoris, sartorius, pectineus, hip flexion,
What muscle attaches to the lesser trochanter of the femur and its functions?
iliopsoas, L2, L3
- Flex the thigh at hip joint
- Flex the spinal column when femur fixed
What are the functions of the sartorius muscle?
- flexion, abduction, lateral rotation of the thigh
- flexes and medially rotates the knee
What muscles attached to the ASIS?
sartorius, rectus femoris
What edge of the femoral condyle is raised to prevent patella dislocation?
The lateral edge
Where do the hip adductors originate and their innervation?
The pubic bone to linea aspera (medial femur)
- obturator nerve L2-4
What are the origin, insertion, and action of gracillis?
pubic bone to the medial tibia
- adducts thigh
- flexes the leg at knee joints
- medial rotation of the leg with knee fixed
From an anterior view - list the Pes Anserenus muscles
Sartorius, gracillis, semitendinosus
What forms the femoral triangle?
inguinal ligament superiorly
- Sartorius laterally,
adductor longus medially
What are the origin, insertion, innervation, and action of Adductor Magnus?
Nerve: obturator and tibial (hamstring part)
A: Adducts thigh and extends hip
