LEC 1 Flashcards
Stim response compatibility
degree of learned correspondence b/w stim and response
affect how easy to translate input to response (e.g. thing with stove top burners, more intuitive = easier translation)
compatibility
degree to which relationship are consistent with human expectation (e.g. you expect the burners to be organized a certain way, if they are then it is more compatible
contralateral vs ipsilateral mapping
which shows faster results
ips - same side (left light = left response)
(is compatible, more efficient)
Cont mapping - flipped (left stim = right response etc.)
ipsilateral show faster
Spatial coding
Spatial relations - explicit vs implicit
Spatial coding regards spatial relations or locations.
exp based on spat pos (stim placed to the left)
imp based on symbol (arrow pointing left)
when stim and codes match there is better translation
are delays in contralateral mapping due to neuroanatomy or cognition
cognition because of test done with crossing hands to control for brain hemisphere sides
