- IQ <70
- Social or adaptive dysfunction (community, social skills, home living, self care)
- Onset under 18yrs
How are learning disabilities classified?
(IQ) Mild LD - 50 to 69 Moderate LD - 35 to 49 Severe LD - 20 to 34 Profound LD - <20
What are the causes of Learning disabilities?
Genetic: Single gene, Micro-deletion, Chromosomal abnormality
Infective: rubella, meningitis, encephalitis
Toxic: e.g. foetal alcohol syndrome
Trauma: e.g. birth asphyxia, head injury
What are the common physical conditions in Learning disabilities?
