Learning Flashcards
Classical Conditioning
The use of linking an unfamiliar stimulus with a known one to produce the same unconditioned response for the new stimuli
Unconditioned Stimulus
The stimulus (sound, smell, touch) that triggers a response (unconditioned response)
Conditioned Stimulus
The stimulus learned to produce a give response (usually the same unconditioned response)
Conditioned Emotional Response (CER)
The learned emotion based on other close individuals
Conditioned Taste Aversion
Learned dislike of a food produced or specific taste when eaten up to 6 hours before nauseated feelings
Operant Conditioning
Learning based on reinforcement and punishment
- There is both positive and negative punishment
- There is both positive and negative reward
Latent Learning
Such as one uses when in classes/studies - the repetitive pattern of material referencing
Insight
The sudden arrival of a solution after observing a problem
Learned Helplessness
One who tends to not escape a bad problem because of past failures
Observational Learning
A “Monkey-see-Monkey do” method of observing and mimicking
Learning
Any relative change in an individuals behavior due to experiences or practice of sorts
