What is learning?
Mullins 2013:
It will lead to a relatively permanent change in behaviour or potential behaviour that result from expereince
What can learning help?
Develop attributes and could aid motivation
What benefits does learning have to an organisation?
Success, efficiency, quality, adaptability to change
What is classical conditioning?
The use of behavioural modification to shape behaviour by changing its cues and consequences e.g. Pavolv’s dogs
What is operant conditioning?
Like classical conditioning it is the modification to shape behaviour, but uses rewards for reinforcements
What does the classical theory of learning ignore?
- Human ability to draw conclusions and make generalisations
- The role of insight and creativity
- Affect of social leaning
- Importance of incidental learning
