A

A

Total quality management
This considers the efficient usage of all resources in the production

What is Jidoka?

A
  • The process of detecting and rejecting faulty goods at the earliest possible moment on the production line
  • If it stops the production then the downtime caused by this costs money
  • the Andon lights signs are used to ensure that a problem has either been identified or is being dealt with

A

A

Just-In-time production

Stock levels are kept intentionally low to reduce storage costs and other benefits that come with holding less stock

What is Kanban?

A

Used to help to successfully operate a JIT production system.

It aims to help organise components onto the production line at the correct time.

Uses a card system to help the computer to recognise the type of component and where it is needed on the production line
