Effective Leadership
Leaders must inspire and encourage those around them to work toward a shared vision. They must relay important information and align everybody’s effort in pursuing goals.
Effective Communication
It involves clear and concise conveying of messages to others. It can impact leadership by enabling leaders to express their thoughts, ideas, and instructions effectively, leading to better collaboration and productivity within a team.
Communication Process
The process of communication involves several key steps: Sender/Source, Message, Encoding, Channel, Receiver, Decoding, Feedback, and Noise.
Poor Communication Consequences
Poor communication can lead to misinterpretations, deterioration of relationships with employees and clients, lack of engagement from employees, low morale / low motivation, and inhibition of progress.
Charismatic Leadership
Charismatic leadership involves a unique set of skills and tactics that help to inspire, motivate, and influence others. Tactics include Vision and Articulation, Sensitivity to the Environment, Sensitivity to Member Needs, Personal Risk, Unconventional Behavior, Self-Sacrifice, Role Modeling, and Inspirational Communication.
Substance in Leadership
Show integrity, authority, and confidence.
Moral Conviction in Leadership
It’s important to have a sense of duty.
Ambitious Goals in Leadership
Set ambitious goals and have confidence in achieving them.
Communication Framing
Help the listener to understand, relate and remember through stories, metaphors, contrasts, rhetorical questions, rule of three, and repetition.
Delivery in Communication
Show passion in voice and body through animated voice, facial expressions, and gestures.
Active Listening
A communication technique that requires the listener to fully concentrate, understand, respond, and then remember what is being said.
Giving Feedback
If possible, give positive feedback. If necessary, give negative feedback. Build positive relationships over time. Do not bury negative feedback between compliments. Do not make it personal. Be constructive. Do not hesitate to give negative feedback right away. Accept feedback as well.

In communication in which feelings, motivations, and opinions are transferred, 55% of the meaning is conveyed via body language, 38% via vocal attributes and 7% via spoken words.

Attend, Acknowledge, Invite, Summarize.
Objective of Active Listening
Understand the point of view of the speaker, demonstrate respect for the speaker, build a stronger relationship with the speaker, guide the speaker to express their thoughts clearly.
