Leader-member exchange (LMX)

How to develop trust
Integrity (make sure that your word is applied equally and openly and that you follow through)
Benevolence (treat people with dignity and respect, and actively demonstrate you care about their interests)
Ability (know what you’re talking about; if you don’t, know how to direct the person to someone who does have the knowledge)
Time (building trust takes time – one must show a real commitment to the above three)
High LMX
The relation between the leader and employee is characterized by high levels of trust, mutual liking, professional respect, and mutual felt obligation not to let each other down.

inspirational motivation
