How to operate the emergency escape hatch?

• Grasp the curtain rail lining by the two RED arrows
• Forcefully pull the curtain rail lining
• Remove insulation package
• Grasp and pull the RED handle fully down to release it
• Push the emergency escape hatch upwards and outwards.
  ROW 54 RHS. FIRST OFFICERS BUNK CEILING.

How to open the emergency hatch from the cabin?

• Remove the carpet covering emergency escape hatch
• Lift and turn the RED handle counter clockwise to the unlocked position
• Use RED handle to lift and remove hatch
• Remove insulation package
• Kick hatch door.

Question 13

What will happen if the airflow is too low in the LD-CRC?

Answer 13

• A buzzer will sound for 30 seconds
• buzzer cannot be reset
• the LEAVE compartment sign will illuminate on the SU of each bunk on info panel
• Light will adjust to full bright 100%

Question 14

Crew action with AIRFLOW being too low?

Answer 14

• Exit the CRC
• Ensure it is unoccupied
• Close main entrance hatch (top of the ladder)
• Inform the flight crew

Indications of decompression in the LD-CCRC?

• Repetitive HI chime sounds for 5 minutes throughout the loud speakers.

CREW SHOULD:
- Press the DECOMP CHIME RESET hard key on the mini FAP to silence when leaving.

Indications of smoke detection system in the LD-CRC?

Answer 16

• Flashing RED light on AIPs
• LEAVE COMPARTMENT sign will illuminate
• Single low chime for 30 seconds followed by a triple low chime every 30 seconds
• Affected location is identified in a test message on SMOKE DETECT page on mini FAP’s
• The “close hatches” and SMOKE CREW RESET LED on the FES panel will illuminate.

Question 17

Fire fighting in the LD-CCRC?

• The airflow system will shut down
• Cabin crew must don PBE and fire extinguisher
• Must leave if not part of the firefighting team
• CLOSE ESCAPE HATCH.
• If LD-CCRC is not occupied, use back of hand to identify hot or cold door.

If unable to extinguish the fire in LD-CCRC?

Firefighting team must vacate the LD-CCRC, close the main entrance door hatch, ensure the emergency hatch is closed and activate the FES.
- BREAK THE SEAL ON THE FES SWITCH COVER
- OPEN FES HATCH COVER
- SET FES SWTICH COVER
- SET THE SWITCH TO THE FES DISCHARGE POSITION.
