  5. Flashing RED light on all AIPS’s, with a message indicating the lavatory affected by the smoke.
  6. The affected location is identified in a text message on the smoke detect page, on all mini FAP’s
  7. The SMOKE RESET buttons will illuminate on all FAP’S and mini FAP’S.

How to RESET the smoke system?

A

Press the “smoke reset” hard key// soft key on any of the FAP’S or mini FAP’s to reset some of the audio and visual indications.

  • The remaining visual indications will be visible until all smoke has dissipated.

What to do if a seat fire occurs?

A
  1. Use the fire extinguisher and follow firefighting SOP’s
  2. Switch off the IFE power by pressing the PAX SYS hard key on the FAP. This will switch off IFE, CWS and seat power.
  3. Once fire is out, follow post firefighting SOP’s.

  • Standby with a fire extinguisher
  • Investigate the source of smoke
  • Switch off the IFE power for the AFFECTED AREA using the IFE power switch on the FAP. This will turn off the IFE power in that affected area only.
