Q

What is the management of lobar carcinoma in situ?

A

Not all LCIS develop into an invasive carcinoma. Therefore observation is the preferred approach.

Surgery may be needed later

Tamoxifen, and screening are used to reduce risk

More aggressive treatment bilateral prophylactic mastectomy
