what are the symptoms of lateral epicondylitis

A

PAIN

  • insidious - occurs 24 hours after unaccustomed activity involving wrist extension
  • actute - single exertion involving wrist extensors (heavy lifting)
  • pain may radiate down forearm into dorsum of hand

  • pain on resisted wrist and finger extension and radial deviation
    pain on passive extensor stretch
    -reduced grip strength

A

usually not performed

  • X-ray - degenerative change
  • ultrasound may should tendon damage
