A
  • looks at individuals perception of a threat posed by a specific health problem as well as the perceptions of the benefits as well as the factors influencing the decision to change the behaviour or act
  • consists of:
  • perceived susceptibility - how vulnerable one is
  • perceived severity
  • perceived benefits
  • perceived barriers
  • cues to action
  • self efficacy - confidence to carry out desired action
