It is a Red wine only AOC that has been established since 1948.
One of the oldest appellations in France. It has 2 distinct non-contiguous sectors: Fitoux Maritime and Fitou Montagneux.
The wines are red blends consisting of min 50% combined: Carignan (min 20%), Grenache (min 20%) and min 10% combined Syrah and Mouvedre with 12% ABV.
Fitou lies within Corbieres AOP.
