Landing Gear System Flashcards
How does the landing gear system operated?
Hydraulically operated
and pressure is controlled by electrically powered referable pump
can you switch the controlled nob to opposite, when the gear is in transition
No, it can harm the electric pump
how long does it take the operated the gear system?
6-7 seconds
What happens if there is a hydraulic pump failure?
you can extend the gear by relieving the hydraulic pressure. Make sure the the gear is in the down position
When does the red light comes on on the instrument panel?
When the gear is not in the full up or down position
What is the connection between landing green lights and anti collision light?
To help the pilots during night, it is dimmed. Green lights are not on during day, check the anti collision lights.
Reason of one or two green lights are not on?
1) Gear is not locked down
2) The bulb is burned out
3) malfunction in the indicating system
Can you check the green bulbs?
Yes, pull and replace
when is the warning horn activated?
1) Manifold pressure below 14 inches
2) gear selector in up position when plane is on the ground
what are the airspeeds for landings gears?
125 retracting
150 extending
how is the break system?
single dis double puck break system
What are the Electric Limit Switches
stop the flow of current to the motor of the hydraulic pump when the gear is fully up or fully down position.
Red Warning Light:
- The gear is in transit
- Gear up and MP is below 14”
- Gear selector switch in “up” position when the airplane is on the ground
Micro Switch:
throttle quadrant activates a warning horn.
(red lights under the following conditions):
- Gear up and MP reduced below 14” on either engine or both
- Gear selector switch “up” position when the airplane is on the ground
Safety Switch
A safety switch located on the left main gear prevents the hydraulic pump from actuating if the master switch should be turned on and the gear selector switch is placed in the “up” position, when the airplane is on the ground.
