Landing Gear Flashcards
Describe the OFF position of the landing gear
Landing gear hydraulic system is depressurized
How many degrees can the nose-wheel steering system turn the nose gear with the tiller an rudder pedals?
-70 degrees with the tiller
-7 degrees with the rudder pedals
What does the BRAKE SOURCE amber light indicate when illuminated?
Active brake hydraulic sources (4,1, & 2) have low pressure
How are the landing gear held in position after retraction
-Main gear held up in position by uplocks
-Nose gear mechanically locked in up position
When does RTO apply maximum breaking?
-AOG
-Wheel speed above 85kts
-Thrust levers close
What is the purpose of the brake accumulator?
Provides pressure for parking brake application
What does a white crosshatched expanded gear position indication mean?
Related gear in transit
What conditions must be satisfied in order for the landing gear lever lock to be released?
-Main gear tilted
-Body gear centered
What hydraulic system pressurizes the brake accumulator?
System 4
What value on the brake temp monitoring system (BTMS) causes the BRAKE TEMP advisory EICAS message to appear?
5
How does the landing gear extend with the alternate gear extension system?
-Pushing alt gear extend switch electronically releases uplocks and door latches and gear free-falls
Why is it necessary to pressurize sytem 4 before pressurizing the othe systems?
Precludes x-fer of fluid from system 1 or 2 into system 4. When parking brake set then released, fluid returned to system 4
What does an EICAS message LIMITER indicate?
-Brake torque limiter failure on more than one wheel per truck
-Parking brake lever released and valve not fully open
-Brake system control unit power loss occurs
