Before inserting a denture what should we check

How should a denture be removed
Both sides should be removed at the same time following the path of insertion
How should patients clean their denture
Remove it from their mouth and use a bowl of hot water and soap with a soft brush
Alongside cleaning the denture what other post insertion advice should we give patients
- Rinse after each meal
- Brush at night and soak the denture over night
- Once or twice a week with a proprietary cleaner
After giving the patient their denture when do we review
After one week
What do we ask the patient when they come for their denture review
- Ask how they are managing
- Re check alter points covered in the denture fit appointment
- Examine sulk and denture bearing tissued for areas of redness and ulceration
