What does eversion mean?
To turn the foot out laterally
What does inversion mean?
To turn the foot in medially
What does dorsiflexion mean?
To point the foot superiorly
What does plantarflexion mean?
To point the foot downwards
What does medial rotation mean?
To turn a part of the body in towards the midline
What does lateral rotation mean?
To turn a part of the body away from the midline
What does circumduction mean?
Involving a combination of movements to move something in a circular motion
ex arm circles
What are the muscles of the lliopsoas group?
The illicus and the psoas major
What action(s) does the lliacus facilitate?
It flexes the femur at the coxal joint
What action(s) does the psoas facilitate?
It flexes the trunk at the coxal joint
What action(s) does the gluteus maximus facilitate?
It extends, laterally rotates, and abducts the femur at the coxal joint
What action(s) does the gluteus medius facilitate?
It abducts, and medially rotates the femur at the coxal joint
