Males- narrower and heart shaped
Females- wider and oval shaped

Female- wide angle 90 degrees
Males- narrower angles 30 degrees
What is the difference in ischial tuberosities between males and females ?
Male- inverted
Female- everted
How is the os coxae/ coxal bone described as?
The two “hip bones”

The two “sit bones”
How is the obturator foramen identified by?
For being the holes on the anterior os coxae, framed by the pubis and and ischium

It is described as being the the socket for the hip ball and socket joint that is shaped by all 3 coxal bones
What are the 3 features of the tibia?
Medial and lateral condyles
Tibial tuberosity
Medial malleolus
What are the 2 trochanters of the femur?
The grater and lesser trochanters
What is the difference between the epicondyles and condyles of the femur?
That the epicondyles face anteriorly and are less rounded meanwhile the condyles face posteriorly and are more rounded
What is the purpose of the head of the femur?
To connect to the os coxae at the acetabulum
What is the purpose of the gluteal tuberosity of the femur?
for the gluteal muscles to attach to the femur
What is the purpose of the adductor tubercle on the femur?
It is where the adductors of the thigh attach to the femur
What is a feature of the fibula?
the lateral malleolus
What is the official term for the ankle bone ?
talus
What is another term for heel bone?
calcaneus
What are the different terms for the three types of cuneiforms?
lateral, intermediate, and medial
