Urticaria
Hives
wheal, edematous, pinkish-white, pruritic area of elevation
-can be caused by many food allergies, inhalants, ect
Acne Vulgaris
- most common cutaneous disorder
- primary lesions are comedones which may progress to papules, pustules, cysts, scarring
- color of imbedded imbedded dirt
- represents melanin
Alopecia Areata
-round bald areas
aphthous stomatitis
canker sores
- viral infection, food allergies, psychogenic factors may play role
- painful ulcers
Herpes Zoster (Shingles)
- varicella virus
- groups of tense vesicles on an erythematous base
- thoarcic nerves are the most commonly involved
Intertrigo
- occurs in areas where opposing skin surfaces come in close constant contact
- friction, excessive heat and sweat retention are the causative and aggravating factors
- red moist patches frequent in warm weather
- groin, axilla, submammary folds
Miliaria
- heat rash
- sweat retention caused by blocked ducts
- blotchy redness with minute red papules and tiny clear vesicles or pustules with itching and burning
Verrucae
- warts
- viral tumors
Acuminate warts
-cauliflower-like lesions frequently covered w/ an offensive smelling secretion found on genitalia
Pediculosis
- lice
- severe itching plus scratching and secondary infection
Seborrheic dermatitis
- oily scalp or skin
- greasy, scaley, red patches,
stasis dermatitis
- develops secondary to poor venous or lymphatic drainage of leg
- slight edema and brownish hemosiderin deposits
- large patch of red, weeping, scaling eczematous dermatitis which forms an ulcer
- lesions found of medial lower leg
Vitiligo
- failure of the skin to produce melanin
- white areas on face and extremities
molluscum contagiosum
- contagious viral infection
- asymptomatic
- waxy papules found on the face hands and trunk

asymmetrical border irregularity color diameter greater than pencil eraser evolution
Trush
creamy white patches on oral muscosa membranes
monilial paronychia
tissues surrounding fingernails are edamatous and erthematous
