Q

Significance of Mumbai’s SITUATION

A

Internationally, Mumbai’s location on India’s west coast makes it closer to Europe via the Suez Canal than other Indian ports improving trade and overall access to Europe.

-By air, Mumbai is nine hours from UK airports. Its international airport handled 32 million passengers in 2014 (about half of London’s Heathrow). It is a four hour flight to Singapore, and under three hours to Dubai or other Middle East destinations. Nationally, most other Indian cities are within two hour flight time. This makes it possible to travel on business to any of these cities and back in one day.
