what is statistical infrequency
A
when an individual possesses a less common characteristic than majority of population - behaviour which is statistically rare, e.g. having an IQ of more than 130

2 weaknesses of statistical infrequency
A
- involves labelling people as abnormal, e.g. someone with low IQ may be labelled in a negative manner which could have negative effect on how they view themselves, affects self confidence and esteem - further problems
- subjective cut off point, deciding dividing line where normality and abnormality starts and ends, e.g., 70 IQ is abnormal but 71 is normal? questions cut off point
