L14: Presentation Of Quantitative Data Flashcards
1
Q
What does a scattergram show?
A
- Correlations between co-variables
- Indicates strength/direction of correlation
2
Q
What does a bar chart show?
A
- Discrete variables
- Height of bar = frequency
- Spaces left between bars
3
Q
What do distributions show?
A
- Normal distribution: data reflects bell shaped curve (symmetrical)
- Mean, median, mode all occupy the same midpoint of the curve
- Ends never touch the x axis
- Positive skew = left side
- Negative skew = right side
