What is the difference between emotions and feelings?

A

While emotions are associated with bodily reactions that are activated through neurotransmitters and hormones released by the brain, feelings are the conscious experience of emotional reactions.
The Difference:
Emotions:
- Not conscious, they are unconscious
- Brought into consciousness through feelings
- Amygdala - emotional arousal
- Bodily reactions that are activated through neurotransmitters and hormones released by the brain
- Physical and instinctive
Feelings:
- Feelings are conscious, experience of emotional reactions
Feelings come from emotional experience
