How is Britain economically successful? (5)

A
  • Resource rich - moderate climate, favourable geology.
  • New technology - steam engine, railways, canal system.
  • Colonialism - resources, from sugar and tea to cotton and rubber, to dominate world trade.
  • Good governance - stable political system, meant if you worked hard you could prosper.
  • Geographical position - of NW coast of Europe, allowing to trade easily, island so could trade from many ports.
