- pre conventional
- conventional
- post conventional
EACH LEVEL HAS TWO SUBSTAGES

stage 1 and 2 in pre conventional
A
- child/ Individual is good in order to avoid being punished as if someone is punished they must have done wrong
- Children recognise there’s not just one right view, everyone has different viewpoints

stage 3 and 4 of conventional morality
A
- Child is good in order to be seen as a good person by others
- Child becomes aware of the wider rules of society

stage 5 and 6 of post conventional morality
A
- Child becomes aware that some rules might exist for the good of the greater number, there are times when they will work against the interest of particular individuals
- They have developed their own set of moral guidelines which may or may not fit the law but these principles are applied to everyone
