Available knowledge
Use the primary question and subquestions to guide review of current, relevant information. Review published products and unpublished data holdings to determine what information is already available to address the question in analysis.
Collection posture
Determine if all available sources are optimized to collect information relevant to the question by reviewing incoming reporting against levied requirements. Determine if changes to the collection posture or needed to address the primary question or a critical subquestion.
Critical gaps
Compare available information to the primary question and subquestions to determine which questions do not already have accessible relevant information to use in analysis. List these critical information gaps to inform knowledge development plans.
