The process of identifying the forces that will drive and those that will will resist a proposed change.

Principles of FFA:
A
- Define the target of the change.
- Identify the driving and restraining forces.
- Analyze driving and restraining forces.
- Allocate a value of strength to each of the forces.
- Develop an action plan which aims at reducing the power of the restraining forces whilst also increasing the power of the driving forces.

- Managers can identify the challenges that come with change.
- Allows managers to create an action plan which can lead to successful change.
- Allows managers to make more informed decisions.
