-The UN holds annual Climate Change Conferences (Conference of the Parties (COP)) to assess global progress. The COP summit involves party states to the United Nations Framework Convention of Climate Change (UNFCCC).
-Here, they review the implementation of the Convention and any other legal instruments that the COP adopts. -Moreover, they take decisions necessary to promote the effective implementation of the Convention. An example of this is the adoption of the Paris Agreement in 2015.
