What does cultural safety mean/ do?
Cultural humility (professionals recognise limits of understanding; encourage openness)
Cultural safety (focus on historical, social, power, racist + discriminatory structural contexts; creating safe space for minorities)
What do interpreters do in a mental health context?
Help bridge gap between patient and professional; preferred to family/ community members bc more accurate translations
What do culture brokers do?
Act as mediators
