What are the signs and symptoms of Kidney Stones ?
A
- Sharp pain & Nausea and vomiting
- WBC’s in urine
- HEMATURIA

What should you do anytime you suspect a kidney stone ?
A
Get a urine specimen ASAP and have it checked for RBC’s

If a kidney stone is present, what will the client get immediately ?
A
Will get Pain Medication immediately

What are the Treatment’s for Kidney Stones ?
A
- Ondansetron (Zofran)
- NSAIDS or opioid narcotics
- Alpha adrenergic blockers (relax smooth muscle of ureter)
- Increase fluids
- Maybe surgery to remove stone
- Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) to crush stone
- Strain urine to send stone for analysis
