What is osmosis
Movement of fluid from a low concentration of solutes to a higher concentration
What is countercurrent flow?
Blood and dialysate flow in an opposite direction to perform osmosis.

Movement of solutes from high to low concentration
What is uremia?
Build up of toxins in the blood
What are s/s uremia?
Edema, soa, itching, yellow skin tone, nausea, ammonia breath, metallic taste in mouth
