Urachus

A

Fibrous remanent of the allantosis which drains the fetal bladder out through the umbilicus. Runs through the space of retzius Failure to close allows urine to leak from the umbilicus and requires surgical correction. Any portion may fail to close, leading to various cysts or fistuals
