Most common cause of chronic interstial nephropathy
Seen with long term NSAID, ASA, tylenol use
Most common in women 60-70; **flank pain and gross hematuria **
Tx: Supportive. D/C offending agent
Analgesic Nephropathy
75% associated with drug hypersensitivty, but can be seen post-infection
Rash, fever, arthralgias
WBC casts in urine; sterile pyuria
Inflammation of tubules and interstitium
Tx: Supportive/steroids/dialysis
Interstial nephritis
Commonly seen in 30-40s
Abd/flank pain; hematuria; HTN; hepatomegaly
Hereditary cyst develompent
US/CT
Therapy to slow rate of pregossion of renal disease
Polycytic kidney Disease
Most common acute kidney injury
due to 1) Ischemia 2) toxins
N/V; HTN; malaise; arrhythmias; rales
Granular, muddy brown casts; BUN:Cr ~10:1
Tx underlying cause
Acute Tubular Necrosis
