Khrushchev and Bulganin rule as a joint leadership. Khrushchev dominates this partnership.
1957
Attempt to unseat Khrushchev; majority in presidium voted for however K brought it to the central committee where he was supported by members he had appointed.
1957 October
Zhukov dismissed with propaganda against him issued.
1957- APG
‘Anti-party’ group expelled from Central Committee and punished for opposition.
1958 March
Bulganin accused of encouraging anti-party group and removed. Khrushchev takes control as Party secretary and prime minister.
