Internalisation
Internalisation- a person genuinely accepts the ideas or values of the group both in public and in private.
Identification
To want to be perceived to belong, even outside of the presence of a group
Compliance
Appear to agree with others in public whilst disagreeing in private. (shalloweat form of conformity)
Informational social influence (ISI)
Conforming because we agree with the opinion of the majority because we believe it to be correct and we want to be correct as well. May lead to internalisation
Normative social influence(NSI)
Conforming because we agree with the opinion of the majority because we want to be accepted, gain social approval and be liked. May lead to compliance
