Rapid, widespread diffusion of a characteristic throughout the population (AIDS prevention and goes viral)
Stimulus diffusion
Spread of an underlying principle even though a characteristic itself apparently fails to diffuse (apple ipad and iphone copy cats)

Branch of human geography that emphasizes the importance of understanding the psychological basis for individual actions (aka whites and blacks, gays flocking to one place)
Humanistic geography
Branch of human geography that emphasizes the different ways that individuals perceive their surrounding environment

Emphasizes the need to understand multiple perspectives regarding space
