Attachment
An emotional tie or relationship between two people shown in their behaviour. This is a reciprocal relationship.
Caregiver
The key figure in the formation of an attachment
Interactional synchrony
Infants imitate the emotions and behaviours of the caregiver. Described as synchrony, as both participants move in the same pattern.
Reciprocity
Refers to the coordinated actions from infants in response to their caregivers actions. This basic communication rhythm is important.
Imprinting
an innate readiness to form a bond with the first moving object and precocial animal encounter.
