A
- NMDA receptor bloker, reducing excitory neurotransmitters in the brain
- Low does = analgesia
- Large dose = amnesia/dissociation
- High dose = anaesthesis
Metabolised in the liver

Administration & Dose
A
Dilute 100mg (1ml) to 100ml glucose bag. = 1mg/ml
IV: 0.25mg/kg to max 25mg over 15 mins. Repeat as required.
IM : 0.5mg / kg to max 50mg, repeat after 20 mins
