-Global shift caused 20,000 job losses in 80s, which led to brownfield sites + deprivation
How have TNCs influenced Kelham Islands characteristics today?
TNCs involved in the steel industry in the area meant when the global shift occurred, Kelham Island was left in decline, subsequently leading to it’s regeneration, showing how TNCs have shaped the area today

Kelham regeneration brought luxury student and young professional housing close to city centre, contributing to it’s gentrification
