A
Know what to do if Person falls overboard, fire or smoke, abandon ship. Identify Muster Station. Locate and Don Life Jackets Location and use of Fire Extinguihers Action on medical emergency Use of Fire, WX and Watertight - Doors.

What basic Training should any seafarer have before joining?
A
Basic Training. Including BFF EFA PST PSSR
Relevant refresher training
Relevant CoC and associated Certificates.

What would you check on joining a new vessel?
A
On Checking the ships certificates, check the previous port state control inspection report. (Would give you a fair idea as to condition of the ship)
