State the purpose and use of a job sheet

A

Job sheets are an official record, chronologically listed, of action taken, informations gathered, people spoken to an exhibits seized.

They should be completed daily on files under investigation. They enable:

Methodical planning
Supervisors to monitor the progress
Other investigators involved to review the whole investigation
Information recorded in your notebook to be transposed into a formatted police document that can be attached to the file.

A

These are enquiries made in the area after an offence to try to locate witnesses to that offence; for example, after a burgs of a house, the neighbours are spike to in case they’ve seen or heard anything suspicious.
