List the actions you would take when arriving at a scene

Discuss the safe forward point
List the actions you would take when obtaining information
Locate informant and
Obtain brief facts
Ask informs to ID victim and/or offender
List the actions you would take when checking the victim
First aid
Call for assistance
Note any injuries
Record position of victim on ground
List the actions you would take when clearing the scene
Remove all people from immediate scene
Ensure they do not take anything or contaminate the scene
If possible have a police member contain them in a clear area, warn them not to discuss what has happened, obtain their full particulars

Control all movement to and from the scene and all activity in the contained area
Freeze - keep the scene in its original state and nothing is to be touched or moved
Preserve all relevant exhibits
Identify and outline the responsibilities of a scene guard in controlling, freezing and preserving the scene
Prevent unauthorised people entering the scene
Record in your notebook details of anyone entering the scene
Brief authorised people
Promptly report and record any suspicious activity
Avoid contaminating or interfering with the scene
Be aware of any animals and remove them from the scene
Outline why your ability to work in a logical manner is important carrying out initial actions at the scene of an incident
The action you take at any scene of a serious offence may be crucial to the successful prosecution of the offender in the high court of the successful resolution of the incident
