Describe the marriage meaning.
A
- Mirrors the relationship between adam and eve as well as their relationship to god.
- Important aspect of jewish life as the talmud states “A man without a wife is incomplete”

A
- Comprised of two ceremonies. Betrothal and Nuptial.
- Groom gives item of value to bride infront of witnesses and recites “you are now consecrated to me under the law of moses and the faith of israel”.
- Ceremony takes place under chuppah
- Following ceremony, there is week long celebration including blessings and further celebratory meals with family.

- Resembles Rebecca covering her face before marrying isaac (genesis 29), emphasis on love and character.

- They are escorted by two witnesses, resembling angels who escorted Adam and Eve.
