Explain what happens in the Jewish Marriage ceremony
Badeken = veiling ceremony of bride = beauty from within not just physical appearance
Chuppah = 4 post canopy where ceremony occurs = open on all sides = couple welcoming guests into lives + the home they will build together
Ketubah = marriage document containing duties of husband to wife (signed during ceremony + given to wife afterwards)
BRIDE CIRCLES GROOM 7 TIMES = 7 days of creation + eternal marriage - wife’s life will centre on her husband
Rings exchanged = wife ring simple - love is not excessive
Sheva Brachot = 7 blessings read out
Groom breaks glass = love cannot be contained in a vessel/ destruction of temple/ both happiness and sadness in life
Seudat Mitzvah = bug feast afterwards
