How does a Jewish boy prepare for his Bat Mitsvah?
A
- Learns Hebrew so he can read a portion of the Torah in the service
- Learns how to put the tefillin, tallit + kippah on, which they will wear in the the BM service
- Takes classes w. rabbi to ensure he understands the history of the religion/religious duties
- Sometimes writes a speech to share his Bar mitzvah with someone who could not (eg. Holocaust victim)

What does a Jewish boy do @ his Bat Mitsvah? (For the Service)
A
- During morning service, called up BIMAH to read portion of Torah
- Gives a speech to say thanks
- Puts on tefillin, tallit + kippah
- Fathers says blessing + passes responsibility on to son
- Large party held afterterwards + boy receives many gifts (first tallit, yard or prayer book are examples!)
