-Christians believe that Jesus is the ultimate source of moral authority. As one of the persons of the Trinity, he has equal authority to God the Father
-They believe that as the incarnate son of God he’s has the authority to pass judgment on and even update the laws in the Old Testament

-This was a command from God to the apostles that shows the authority Jesus had over moral matters

-On the Sermon of the Mount he gave the beatitudes e.g. “blessed are the merciful” or “blessed are the peacemakers”
-he gave the golden rule “treat others the way you would want to be treated”
