How did arminianism develop ?

A

James became increasingly annoyed with puritans and their constant protests about protestant cause in the Thirty years war. Whereas arminians agreed with James’s diplomatic negotiations with Spain. This led to a slight shift toward arminians towards the end of his reign. As he began to allow arminians to have more prominence in theological debates in court and allowed armininist books to be published such as ‘ A new gag for an old goose’
